International study visit for public planners hosted by CERTH.

The International study visit was held on 19.11.2020 in virtual mode as one event including two sessions:

Presentations and discussion on the “Regional dimension of the national de-carbonisation strategy” in Western Macedonia, Greece.

Mr. Ketikidis (Project Coordinator of CERTH) opened the event welcoming all the participants and presenting the project’s insights into the strategic working group meetings which took place during September-October 2020.

During the event, Mr Fotiadis (research associate- member of CERTH’s project team) addressed good practices implemented in regions with a similar economic productive framework to Western Macedonia.

In addition, the Vice Governor of Regional Development of the Region of Western Macedonia, Mr Lyssaridis highlighted the strategic financial tools of restarting the regional entrepreneurship.

After these presentations, a constructive discussion was followed where participants interacted with each other and raised several issues regarding their national/ regional BIO ECONOMY strategy. In total, 15 participants attended the event, such as project partners as well as stakeholders.
